Lunch in Marrickville
Dried Beef and Shredded PawPaw Salad, Jasmine Rice, Three coloured Drink with Coconut (yup, thats what it was called on the menu)
Stir Fried Chicken with Lemongrass and Chili...
OK... I confess I only ordered the Drink for its Photographic possibilities... surprisingly, it tasted better than it looks!
Pretty in Pink
I was sitting in a cafe in Katoomba when I saw these girls walk by. I thought to myself I really should chase after them and ask if I can take their photo. Of course by the time I launched myself into action they were half way up Katoomba street... a steep incline. I saw them duck into a supermarket, which gave me time to catch my breath a little before accosting them.
I asked them why they were dressed up and they just giggled a little and shook their collective heads and shrugged... so I guess they didn't know.
The Big Ayers Rock
The "Big Ayers Rock", is of course, smaller than the real Ayers Rock at 1:40 ratio.
It was built in 1990 as part of a Theme Park by documentary film makers the Leyland Brothers, best known for their TV Series Ask the Leyland Brothers
The theme park was not commercially viable. After an auction held by the receiver on 1992 the theme park was sold for $800,000.
It is now owned by "Aussie Bush Camp" and is a Restaurant/Petrol station.
